Dr. John Hanlin works with Ecolab research, development and engineering teams to develop new technologies and programs for safe food and water. Prior to joining Ecolab, he spent 20 years in the food industry, holding key food safety and quality positions at food manufacturing and retail companies, including General Mills, Campbell Soup Company and SUPERVALU. He was invited to testify before the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture to provide recommendations on how to modernize and improve the safety of the nation’s food supply. John has published scientific papers and book chapters including Legionellosis: An Unintended Consequence of Building Water Systems and Managing the Risk of Waterborne Healthcare-Acquired Infections. He holds a BSc in biology and microbiology from the University of Edinburgh, an MBA from Temple University and a Ph.D. in biology and microbiology from Syracuse University.
