Vice President of Codes and Standards, IAPMO
Hugo Aguilar is the Vice President of Codes and Standards for the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO). In this role, he oversees the development of both the Uniform Plumbing Code and IAPMO industry standards, as well as American National Standards (ANS) and National Standards of Canada. Hugo has participated or is currently participating on technical committees such as NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code), NFPA 96 (Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection), NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code), ASHRAE 62.1 (Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality), ASME B31.1 (Power Piping) and ASME B31.3 (Process Piping). He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer for the State of California.
