Deputy Chief, Energy and Environment Division, National Institute of Standards and Technology
David Yashar is the Deputy Chief of the Energy and Environment Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The work in this division is focused on developing measurement science, predictive models, data and performance metrics to improve the energy efficiency of building components and systems and to enhance the quality of the indoor environment. His background is in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics, and he spent most of this career at NIST performing research on HVAC&R equipment. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland.
